Circles of Grace

Helping Young Unwed Mothers

Circles of Grace was begun by the Grace Community Center-Kisii, Kenya, to offer young (often adolescent) unwed mothers weekly emotional support while teaching God's grace and how to care for their children. These young women are often shunned by their communities, even when their pregnancies were not their fault. Each group consists of about 5 girls meeting with a mentor.

Saving Lives Through Hope

One young mother shared that Circles of Grace had truly saved her and her child's life. Before attending, she was about to do something very drastic. The shame placed on her by the community and rejection by other local girls had caused her to consider taking her and her child's life. She was so very thankful for the mentor and the sense of hope and belonging that she felt from this new group. She now understands God’s love for her and that her and her child’s lives are of great value to those around her.

Provide hope for young mothers through Circles of Grace.

REMEMBERING Gayle

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our founder, Gayle Sommerfed. On September 24, 2025, Gayle went home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Gayle was a visionary who, motivated by the struggle of Kenyan girls missing school due to period poverty, founded Dignity4Girls in 2014. Inspired by her vision and leadership, D4G has helped over 10,000 girls and women gain access to life-changing menstrual solutions leading to better health, education, and brighter futures.
