U.S. Period Poverty IS REal

"... period poverty impacts a number of different groups across the U.S. From young girls who have to miss school because of a lack of access to period products, to women in prison who are often forced to beg guards for basic hygiene products, menstrual inequity is a real issue."

"...nearly 25 million women live below the poverty line in the U.S., yet menstrual products are not covered by food stamps. "

Forbes : Period Poverty is a Thing, Even in the U.S.

YOU can do something to help!

Inspire your women's groups, church members,  neighbors and  community to begin a collection.

Collect and Donate sanitary products for your local  food pantries or women's shelters.

  • Feminine Pads (most requested)
  • Tampons
  • Feminine wipes ( requested by homeless shelters)

How to Organize A Collection Near You:

  • Contact local women's shelters or food pantries to verify need
  • Identify businesses and/or churches as drop off sites (offer them a container with posters).
  • Start spreading the word!  (contact D4G and let us know you are collecting and where you live- we will announce  it on our website!)
